Pen Pal Information

This is word for word the information I recieved from the American Red Cross on the mailing of "any service members". To enusre the safety of deployed ARC and Military members this is how we are going to get things started.

If you wish to write to a deployed military member then use the address at the bottom of this page. The best way to get a letter to them is as follows:

1. Send just a simple card, one that says hello would be good.

2. Do not seal the envelope. Place it into the envelope and then place THAT envelope into a larger one and seal that one to mail. Whatever mail I recieve I will have to open. Whatever mail I take to the ARC to be sent they will have to inspect.

3. In that card say whatever you want. Mention hobbies, likes and dislikes, if you have a cat or a dog, your line of work, etc. Include your return address and/or email address.

On my end I will collect the mail weekly and pass it along to the ARC with other assorted items. They in turn will ship the cards to the bases overseas.

Along with the Pen Pal program I'm getting underway the ARC is also looking for people to donate certain items to the deployed personnel and Military. Now I know the cost of shipping items overseas can be a bit much for some folks so I've decided that if you want to donate any of the items listed below then send them to me. I will get them inspected and handle the shipping costs. Why? Who knows.... perhaps just because I can.

Either way take a moment to look at this list, you would be surprised at what is there.

Address to write or send items too:

TDY Forces

P.O. Box 226

Homestead, Pa. 15120

Items needed:

Please note that all items packaged and sent to will be re-opened. All packages shipped to the bases MUST BE packed, sealed, and shipped by ARC workers. These people will inspect every item to ensure the safety of overseas personnel.
